Transformation from PC to Tablet can be an alternative to Cloud Computing

As personal data increasing dramatically, it is hard to keep up the data management. For example, people may have one computer at work, carrying a laptop on the run, another desktop at home along with a tablet. This becomes very difficult to store, retrieve and update personal data at different computing devices.

Cloud-based operating system seem a solution to this problem. All data and software are store in web server; we only need to organise data and install software on one cloud-based computing system and no matter which computer we use.

In addition, there is another approach to manage large amount personal data between several personal computing devices. More and more people carry a laptop; connect it with a big monitor at work and one at home. This would reduce our computing device into two that are a laptop and a tablet. Once laptop and tablet converge over time, one tablet will be the only computer we need at work, home, on the run and rest on the coach.

Thus, Microsoft Surface Pro is likely to be primary personal computing device in the coming future. It can be used as touch screen tablet for entertaining, laptop with mini keyboard and powerful PC when connect with a big monitor.

During the period of PC to Tablet transformation, Microsoft Surface Pro will eventually replace majority of desktops and laptops. Most Android tablets and iPad with less functionality will become niche products used primary for recreation. At affordable price range such as less than 900$, most customs are likely to buy a fully functional Microsoft Surface Pro instead of 500-700$ Android tablet with limited functionality.

The users who are familiar with traditional window desktop interface may not accustom to the interface of Windows 8. However, creating an integrated and seamless user experience between the different types of PC devices is the "the Holy Grail “of modern computing.
